One rhythm, every week
Keep the same order of posts and reels, such as two posts then a reel. Each reel then lands in the same column and the grid reads as one.

01 Side by side
Instagram's profile grid shows every post as a 3:4 tile. A picture of another shape is cut from the middle to fill it.
| Shape | Upload size | What the grid hides |
|---|---|---|
| 3:4 post | 1080 × 1440 | Nothing: it fills the tile |
| Portrait post (4:5) | 1080 × 1350 | about 34 pixels from each side |
| Square post (1:1) | 1080 × 1080 | 135 pixels from each side |
| Landscape post (1.91:1) | 1080 × 566 | about 328 pixels from each side |
| Reel (9:16) | 1080 × 1920 | 240 pixels from the top and the bottom |
When you post, Instagram lets you adjust what the grid preview shows. The planner shows the middle, which is what the grid shows if you don't.
02 In short
What our team keeps in mind for every feed it plans.
Keep the same order of posts and reels, such as two posts then a reel. Each reel then lands in the same column and the grid reads as one.
Give every reel a cover with its headline inside the part the grid shows, so the profile reads like a menu of what you offer.
The grid trims the sides of a 4:5 post and the top and bottom of a reel. Keep headlines, prices and the logo in the middle.
Alternate close-ups, people, products and designed posts, so no two tiles next to each other look the same.
03 Step by step
Pictures and videos from your phone or computer. New ones go first, top left, where your next post will show.
Drag a tile, or use its arrows, until the grid looks right as a whole.
Turn on “Show what the grid cuts” to see each whole picture with the part the grid shows lit.
Post the bottom right first and the top left last, so the grid ends up as you planned it.
04 Asked often
Each post shows as a 3:4 tile. A 3:4 picture at 1080 × 1440 fills it. A 4:5 post loses about 34 pixels from each side, and a reel loses 240 pixels from the top and the bottom.
Yes, when you post: Instagram lets you adjust the grid preview, and a reel's cover can be cropped for the grid. The planner shows the middle, which is what the grid shows if you don't.
No. The planner shows them from your browser's memory. Nothing is sent to us or stored, and closing the page clears it.
Yes. The Grid in your calendar shows your Instagram profile with the posts that went out, the ones coming and the ones waiting for you. The team keeps one order of posts and reels, and gives the reels it makes a cover with their headline where the frame allows.
