## What happens when you paste a link

1. **We check the address**: Only public websites. Private and local network addresses are refused before anything is fetched.
2. **We read one page**: Your home page and a few of its stylesheets, following your site's robots.txt. Nothing is clicked or typed.
3. **You see your brand**: Your name, logo and colours, and three sample posts with headings from your own site. We never invent words for your brand.

## What it shows

### Your logo

The logo we find on your page, or your first letter on your main colour when there isn't one.

### Your colours

The main, second, accent and text colours your page uses.

### Your headings

Short lines from your own page, set on three sample posts in your colours.

### Your kind of business

What your page looks like it sells, from its own words.

## The free read and the full read

The free read is a quick taste. When you start, the team reads much more.

| | Free brand read | When you sign up |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Pages read | Your home page | Your public pages, and the socials you confirm |
| Logo | The one we find | Options to pick from, in full, icon and name versions |
| Fonts | Not shown | Your site's fonts, or a pairing you pick |
| Posts | Three samples with your headings | Your first poster, free, made from your website |
| Kept | Nothing is stored | Your brand kit, used by every post |

## Fair use

- A handful of reads at a time for each visitor, so it stays free for everyone. Make a free account to keep going.
- Public pages only: nothing behind a sign-in is read.

## Questions

### Is the brand read really free?

Yes. There's no sign-up and no card. Make a free account when you want more: your first poster is free, made from your website.

### Do you keep my website's data?

No. The free read isn't stored. It's read, shown to you and gone.

### Why do my colours look wrong?

Some sites set their colours with scripts or keep a theme's default colours. The full read when you sign up looks at more of your site, and you confirm your brand before any post is made.
